Here are a few of the more than 13,000 Emails I've received  (1998 to 2006)

I’ve copied them from my email exactly as they were written with the exception that I deleted the return email address and last name. This will give you a good idea as to how popular the Internet Guide column is and what types of questions I receive. _________________________________________________________________

Randy,

Could you tell me how to dispose of an old Dell computer that has been taking up space in my storage room for probably ten years.  I upgraded to a higher end computer - but have never taken the time to find out how/where, etc. to dispose of an old computer.  Would appreciate any guidance you can give me.  Thanks.......

My question is that I downloaded ad-aware on my home computer with

Hi,

Randy, everynight before shutting down I run Ad-Aware and just about every night I have to remove 2 from Timesink. They are as follows:

1. .default\software\timesink,inc.

2. software\timesink, inc.

Is there a specific reason for it always being these two that have to be removed from the system?

Please let me know when you have time?

Thanks,

Kay

Dear Mr. Benjamin,

I greatly enjoy your column in the Sun-Commercial. It is always
germane and well-written.
I am interested in purchasing some software but am not sure if my computer
system meets the requirements. Can you tell me how I can determine this
given the following requirements?
233 MHz Pentium processor
32 MB RAM
4x speed CD-ROM
DirectX compatible Sound Card
DirectX compatible 3d Accelerator (4 MB)

Thank you for your assistance!

Hi there,

I have an HP Pavilion and was wondering if I could get the mother board for my computer like you were talking about in the paper.

I have had several sound cards and I always have to replace them all the time or restall them. Also if I can get a mother board can you put it in for me.

I have a sound blaster card in it now and it doesn't work.

I live in Washington, IN.

Thanks for your time and good luck to you in your recording.

 Sincerly,

Ken

To begin with, I have been reading your newspaper column in the
Vincennes Sun-Commercial.  Plus I think I talked to your at Joe
Siler's Gas Station.
OK-Here's the question----What do you charge to help people
on-line?
I don't know if I have Windows on my computer twice or not cursor
was really slow and hard to move.  I shut down and restarted it and it
is doing better.
The message said thread due to a stack overflow problem. A 'V & D', possibly recently installed has consumed too much stack space.'  How do I solve that problem?  I don't want to
loose any of my files but I'm sure there are programs and files I
could delete.
I appreciate any kind of response from you I can get!

Thank you very much!

Carolyn

Hey Randy:

How does it feel to get all that praise like you did in one of the "Letters to the Editor" in tonight’s paper????  I always felt like you were a celebrity, with you having your own column in the paper and all. This must really top it off for you!!!!!

With all jokes aside, I could not have said what that lady said any better. I have thought for a long time that I was your #1 fan, now I know I have competition...... You certainly do write a down to earth column for all of us who do not know the computer lingo... I said it before-- I have tremendous admiration and respect for all the knowledge that you have.

Good going....

We cannot get the webpage for the Sun-Commercial....is it down?  We enjoy reading it each evening and haven't been able to get it for several days....miss seeing your weekly column too.

Take care....hoping the Sun-Commercial will soon be available.

Sent Crystal Holmes a note to see if anyone could tell what it was , etc etc. no respons and if it hit the Sun C....we missed it.

also, can you tell me what might be my problem with several people's e-mails coming in as deleted items can the provider conquer that...............also, I cannot get rid of the Weatherbug and have sure tried........tells you to hit a certain thing, but mine doesn't call it by same name......so it is a very pesky thing.......

Randy I read your articles in the Vincennes paper all the time.  I am sorry to bother you but I wonder if you could help me.  I went to karenware.com  and downloaded  Karen's Countdown Timer II. Can you please tell me how it works?  I know you said to read the directions.  Well can you direct me to the directions?  I have looked and looked and can not seem to find them.  I have inputed all the dates I wanted to and picked "Merlin" to remind me.  But when does he remind me,. the day of or is there a place that I could set when I want him to remind me?

Thanks for your columns I really have learned lots from them.

Hey Randy;
How's it going? I e-mailed my paper and told them how much I
liked your column. I also downloaded the directory printer that you
talked about in your column in yesterdays paper. I haven't gotten
into it yet but I will.
    I haven't been troubled with pop-ups for a long time. I almost
forgot they existed. Now, all of a sudden, I'm being inundated with
pop-ups for travel. I'm getting everything from cruise ships to
tours to places I didn't know existed. I don't have a pop-up blocker
on my instrument so I was wondering if you could suggest a site to
go on where I could download a good, free pop-up blocker. I would
appreciate it very much. Thanks Randy, and have a good super bowl
sunday, GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Question:  when I first got my computer about a year and a half ago there
was a website that you could access, then from there surf the web
anonymously.  Is such a site still in existence?

Thanks, John

Randy,

I read your column in our paper regularly. (The Washington Times-Herald)  I installed the Ad-Aware prpgram you suggested in the column that was in our Wednesday issue.  My question: Should I  get rid of everything the program finds or should I  only get rid of certain icons, files, or what?

I deleted several that I was sure of but others I was not sure about.  I just got a new Gateway and 3 of the files Ad-Aware found  had Gateway in the file name. Should I still delete those?

I connected to a couple of web sites, links installed on my Gateway, then realized I probably should not have done that because both were music sites that wanted to sell me software.

Some of the files, including the Gateway ones had Time sink in the name.  I just don't want to delete something important.  Any advice you can give would be helpful and appreciated.

    Sincerely

    Cyndi

Randy, thanks for a good column.  I took your advise and downloaded Ad-Aware and ran it.  My question is:  What do I do with it now??  It asks me if I want to "back-up", "save", or "exclude".  I always worry if I completely eliminate something.  Still, I can't see why I'd want to save it if it's harmful.

Please reply to an ignorant computer user...Thanks again.

Hi! My name is Lisa Wilson and I am responsible for the SouthKnoxElementary School webpage. I have a couple of questions I hope you can help me with.

1. We do a lot of classroom pages and the kids love to add midis to these pages. We have found that the midis only play on Microsoft Explorer. Can you tell me how to get them to play on Netscape also?

2. We would like to have a place on our site where the visitors could send a virtual card with artwork from SKE kids. Is this possible? I have checked with a couple of card sites on the web and they charge an arm and a leg and also have all types of advertising banners that may not be appropriate for a school website. I am not sure what all this would entail. It may be a huge project.

Thanks for your help!

I've just ready your article on ICQ in the local newspaper. A friend sent me the file to download to log on ICQ & I did---got a number and everything but I can't seem to do anything else with it. When I try to log on the" http://www.icq.com/ that you listed in the article it just says:

Connect: connecting www.icq.com and then nothing. The computer doesn't lock up since I can stop the transmission and do other things. I have let it run several minutes but still no go. I've not had other connections take so long. Also, the friend that sent me the file said the authorized me as a user but my screen still says I requested a contact to them---no note of the authorization. Any help would be appreciated.

Should I just delete the whole file and try again?

Subject: Drivers ?

Hello, I've got a question on drivers for the modems. I've got a U.S. Robotics 56k faxmodem and I already have it installed. But, my driver is still the one that came loaded in my computer. It said that I have the pbcomm driver installed. My pc is a Packard Bell so I took it to mean that it was the one that came with the original modem. Should my Robotics modem have it's own driver that came with it? I checked the web site that you had in your article and there was nothing mentioned about drivers. I may have overlooked it. I just want to get the most out of my investment. I know that the phone lines around here can't handle the fast speeds, but, I want mine to go as fast as possible. My model # is 5687 on the Robotics modem. Thank you for your time and I would really appreciate any help you could give me.

By the way, I love your Internet articles and I look forward to them every week. Thanks again,

Hello,

About a year ago, I found a website that had a running GMT clock that I used to calibrate the clock on my computer. I cannot find the site again.

All I can find now are java applet clocks that use the same time that I have on my computer, or clocks that only run for a few seconds, not long enough to set my computer clock. Do you know of a website that has a running clock that I could use to re-set my computer clock?

Dear Randy:

I read your article in the March 21st Vincennes Sun-Commercial about rebates. If you received your money back for your rebates, feel that you are maybe 1 out of a thousand to get your money. I bought a remote control from Office Max. I send in all the info that they wanted including the UPC code. I received a letter back from them saying to send them the UPC code. How do you send them another UPC code. I went back to office max and they gave me a $10 gift card instead of my $10 cash. This is not the first time this has happened. I talked to a lot of my friends and they say the same thing. Where can a person file a complaint about these companies?? If these are respectable companies, then they should have INSTANT rebates.

Hi Randy,

I have a question, what is the best/easiest way to wipe out all the stuff on the hard drive?

I am going to sell my laptop and offer it for sell without an OS.  I guess the best way to do this is to dump everything off the hard drive.  Is there some command line that will accomplish this?

Any help would be great!

Hi Randy,

Some one is sending me e-mails with a virus, and I've done everything I know to stop it,but it is still getting through..Thankfully I have Norton anti-virus and it alerts me,I quarantine them and delete, then they go into my e-mail under lots of different names. Most of them as undelivered mail,so I delete them from there as well. I also block sender, but they come in next time different...I don't have a spam stopper, and wondered if this would help.

Seem as if someone is wanting to infect my computer, just don't know who,or why. They are coming in under "virus" w32.netsky.p@mm, this must be the address, but no net or com after mm..

If you have any suggestions please let me know,I find all your articles very helpful,,,

I did what you instructed, but it still doesn't work. I am using Adobe

Acrobat 6.0.1 ( the latest version), I am almost ready to delete it and give

it up. I hope you understand what I am about to say, but here goes.

Whenever I receive an attachment and it has an “envelope " to the left

of where it says " attachment" I can open those, but when I get one that

has an " outlook express " emblem to the left of where it says " attachment "

it won't open it., I hope you understand what I am saying.

I really appreciate all the times that you have helped me. I have your books, but they don't tell me about this. I have some people that think I

don't want e-mail from because I don't answer about their e-mail, but if

Thanks again good guy, if it can't be fixed, I will still be one of your

Hello, Randy - I need your advice. Enjoy your column in The Clarion.

I bought a new Dell computer in August, installed the McAfee Firewall service for the free trial period. After it expired, I renewed the McAfee Firewall and paid the subscription, but did not renew the VirusScan or the Privacy Service.  Since I'm the only one using my computer, I feel that I do not need the Privacy Service, but I'm wondering about the Virus Scan. Should I pay the fee & renew that?  Thanks for your help.

My question is if we use a program such as "Wipe Drive" to erase

Hi Randy,

Well once again I need your advice.  I know now - I probably shouldn't have-but I downloaded and installed hotbar-because I wanted the graphics for my email.  But--ever since then-we're bothered by pop up ads constantly and I'm sure there's a connection to the download.  I've gone to ADD or REMOVE PROGRAMS (w/XP) and tried to uninstall, but it won't let me.  SOOO-I went to http://hotbar.com/downloads/hbuninst.exe and tried to uninstall it that way--still can't do it.  I've also searched for any files and folders that have anything to do w/hotbar, and I was able to delete 2 files, but there's more that I can't get rid of.  I also have ad-aware on our computer and tried that too, but there's still files I can't get rid of.  Do you have any suggestions what I can do-or should I just not worry about it?  I guess it's really not that big of deal--it's just annoying to constantly have the popups--especially when we're bidding on Ebay and it slows us down!!

If you have any ideas-please let me know.

Thanks once again.  Have a great week!

Hello Randy,

I went to the second site you suggested and followed the link to uninstall Hotbar, and it appears to have worked this time.

I really appreciate you taking the time to help me with this--you column is so helpful to so many people--once again--Thank you very much.

Hello Randy! I enjoy your column very much and learn a great deal from it.  I have a question for you.  Every time I log onto my name, I have to wait for Windows Media Player to pop-up. I don't want to wait for this to pop-up and I don't remember setting this program to do this.  I am sure that their is a simple solution to my problem, and have fixed this problem before with other programs, but can't remember now how to get this to stop.  If you could help, I would appreciate it!

Thanks, Jo

Thanks so much...it worked!

Mr. Benjamin,

I read your column in our Washington Times Herald each week. Today you focused on short cuts some of which I already do, and others I will certainly try.

Your menntion of the hiding the task bar and then bringing it back, brought to mind a question I have been trying to find an answer for.

Can one permanently hide or delete the Hotbar. There are some advertising features that I prefer not to see. I click View, Toolbar, and then Hotbar and delete it, but then the next time there it is again.

Your do not need to take time to answer this by e-mail. Perhaps you could touch on it in a column.

Thank you,

Marilyn Sue

Randy, I have a question please.  I'm looking to purchase a new Dell
computer this weekend on line and it's all confusing.  The most confusing
part is the processor speed.  What's the difference beetween the Dell 2400
Pentium 4 which has 2.53GHZ with 533 MHZ....the Dell 4600 Pentium 4 wihch
has 2.8GHz with 533 MHz. or the Dell 8300 Pentium 4 which has HT technology
at 3GHz with 800MHZ????

Could you maybe please clarify which would be better and the difference in
them?  Also, any other advice you can offer in the purchase of a new
computer would be appreciated.  Thanks soooo much Randy.

Hi Randy,

First let me tell you how much I enjoy your column.  Alot of useful hints.

I have yahoo as my start page in internet explorer.  I had been trying to put some restrictions on sites that my son was going to and now when yahoo comes up, I have to hit refresh to see the information.  What have I done and where can I go to fix the problem?

Sometime when you have room in your column, could you cover what things are needed in your startup that are crucial in running your computer.

Thanks

Randy: Do you have a book published with all "Guide to the Internet" material in it??  I cut out your articles and keep them loose in a desk drawer. A book would be handy!! Often when we are on line, normally drafting an e-mail, our home computer completely locks up and we lose what we have written. We have to shut the tower down, boot up and start over. We have a HP Pavilion, system type X86, Pentium III processor 803 Mhz, Memory 62.45 (I know, I need to upgrade) with Me Millennium software. What could I do to prevent the  lockups. Could it be pop up ads overloading the system??  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.   Thank you & keep writing your columns.

Randy, somehow I told my computer not to go to sleep, so now it only goes to sleep for about 5-10 seconds. Something came up on the screen one day and I checked the wrong thing. I can't find it any where how to get the computer to go back to what is was doing.(Sleeping after 15 minutes.) I also am having troubles with getting connected at a good speed. I only get 40000bps. I have localnet. Must of my friends have the same (localnet),  get any where from 46000-49000 bps. I don't know if this is a good idea or not, but I'm going to ask you. Is there any way that you can get into my computer and check it out. I have had it since 2000 and no one has ever looked at it. I think that there is all kinds of things running that shouldn't be. I also can't figure out how to delete things if I don't have the disk anymore. There are at least 2 or 3 games that I uninstalled, but it didn't get all the way out of my computer. I do hope you can help. I'm computer dumb and than some!!!!! Thanks a million for reading this. This isn't something that I would normally do, but I read your article in the Bluffton, IN paper every week and you seem pretty easy going and kind. Thanks again,

I tried and they said you had picked all them up.  Do you still have the book and what is the price, and how can I get it.  My next question, I would like to known something more about Hijacking,  I was hijacked last week , is what my ISP  Shawneelink ,called it and they did correct it for me after about 2 hours with them, but I would like to know if there is anything to prevent this and when I can complain about it. Any information would be helpful.  I looked up the work on the comoter dictionary and it was not in there.

Having been raised in a home where "turn off the lights when you aren't in
the room" was the norm, my first question is do I leave my computer on or
turn it off when I leave the room (actually going away for three or four
hours)?  My neighbor says turning it on and off is hard on the hard drive,
while leaving it on uses little electricity and in the long run is better
for my computer.  Opinion?

And a second question is why in the world does my computer decide to connect
with my ISP when I have done nothing to either request it to do so or
provoked it in some fashion?  At times I will be in another room and hear
the tell-tale noise associated with the dial-up connection.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hi Randy,

Do you have a shop where I can take this darn computer or know of a good place? It all started when I tried to transfer some files off my sons homemade computer and put his hard-drive in mine, because he was having problems with his XP and I tried everything to get his IE 6 working, plus he had adware problems, no anti-virus for a year...on and on. So I took his mp3 files and some pics he wanted to keep. Then I put his hard-drive back into the homemade soyo motherboard special with it's citrix chip and it froze up. I could never get the bios flashed to reset it as the screen would just freeze at the bios settings. So I ordered another cheap board..this time a nice chaintech, which I believe may have gone under, because I can find

anything on the internet about it. I bought a AMD 1800 XP chip with big fan. I put it all together and now it just beeps and I get no video. I would go over stuff, but I know that would bore you, which I already done. Anyway, is there any good advice you can throw my way or tell me where to take this stuff to get it working again? Any help would be appreciated.

 Good Morning,

I have been getting an e-mail every day of a zig saw puzzle for about

two years.  I worked them and enjoyed doing it.  Their web address

was www.zigzone.com which you had to sign up to begin receiving

the daily puzzles.  About 3 weeks ago I clicked on the web

address to receive the daily puzzle like I had been doing all the time.

I got an error message "downloading with errors check your URL then

click refresh" I did what the message said with no luck of being able

to download the puzzle.  This went on for about a week so I called

our provider.  They weren't able to help me.  They asked me if I had installed any thing on the computer.  I told them that I had installed "Pop-Up Stopper" a few days after Christmas.  He said that was the

problem.  I then told him that my daughter is getting the daily puzzle everyday with no problems altho she lives in Evansville and has a different provider and also had the same "Pop-Up Stopper" and still

no problem with receiving the puzzles.  Even if I type in the web address

www.jigzone.com I still get the the message "error loading puzzle

Check URL. Hit Browser Refresh"

Would appreciate any help you can give me.

Ethel

Randy,

I read and have found your articles about computers/internet to be very informative and helpful.  Last week you wrote about spam and ways to control it.  Is it necessary to download a program like K9 if you subscribe to an ISP like earthlinkEarthlink provides a free spam program that seems to do a very good job.  It lets good mail through and sorts the rest into "suspect" or "known" boxes.  You can view these boxes and manually delete known spam or if a "new contact" was caught, you can ask it to move it to your inbox.  Any suspect or known spam not deleted after 14 days is automatically deleted.  I've been using it for about 2 months and it has not failed yet.  What do you think of these programs many ISP's are providing?  Will K9 or something like it work with a program like earthlink's or should you use only one spam controller?  I tried Mailwasher and could never get it to do right.  I was constantly tinkering with it.

I downloaded spy sweeper and it found a virus that slipped by Norton.  It apparently wasn't a major virus but I was surprised and disappointed Norton didn't catch it.

Thanks for all the good tips,

Gary

Subject: HELP!!!!

Hi Randy,

I read your column in the Washington Herald. I have found some very useful information in it.

I have a Dell Dimension 4400 with a Pentium 4 Processor at 2.0GHz, with an 80GB Ultra ATA/100 Hard Drive.  I am running Windows XP Professional. I purchased it in April 2002.

I was wondering if perhaps you could help me solve a problem I had when loading my new Norton System Works 2004 Software?

I started loading my new Norton software and it loaded most of the program except under Norton Utilities I got an Error 1904 Module C:\Winxppro\System32\msjet35.dll failed to register. HResult-2147023897 and gave me a message to contact support personnel. I clicked Ignore and  I continued to get this error code for the following Winxppro\System32\msrd2x35.dll,  ….mstext35.dll, …..msexcl35.dll, and …..msltus35.dll. Then the same error code for the above .dll s came up when loading Norton Clean Sweep.

Most of the software seemed to work all right so I didn’t do anything about it as I don’t have any support personnel.

Yesterday afternoon, I tried to reload my Image Expert 2000 Premium Dell Edition software and I ran in to the same problem with most of the same errors. So I just skipped those and finished loading what would load.  Well, when I tried to open the program, my  system crashed.  When I brought my system back up, it was slower than pond water and some things wouldn’t work at all. I tried to uninstall Image Expert using the Norton uninstall wizard, but the program wasn’t listed in the programs in the Norton?? Today, I think I have uninstalled it by right clicking on the program in my Start Menu Program List and deleting it that way.  The machine is working better again, but I would like to be able to use my picture software.

Can you Help Me!!! I sure would appreciate it.  Or if you could tell me where to get help, that would be fine also.

 Linda

I enjoy reading your column each week. I can usually learn something even though I am not as technical as most people. I think you should publish a book with all that stuff.

Anyway, my question: I have an old computer(Windows 95) that I still use for my email because it has all my addresses on it. I have a newer computer with Windows XP. How can I get all the email address from the old one to the new one without retyping them?

Subject: Question on Outlook address book

Hi Randy,

I was reading your article in the Sun Commercial last Sunday and it brought a question to my mind.  When I am getting ready to send an E-mail (using the Outlook address book), the name that pops up is the mailing name that I use for addressing envelopes when I am using Word.  Do I have to add two separate entries for each person to keep the E-mail address separate from the mailing address?  This is the only solution that I have come up with, but what do I do now??  lol  I would appreciate your help!

I hope that everything is going ok with you!  I am taking the Computer Seminar for Seniors at VU and loving every minute of it.  Actually, I know most of what is being taught so far since I have had a computer for a few years, but I am sure there will be something new that I will learn before the class is over.  I wish that there would be an advanced class.

How are you doing with your music?

Thank you for writing the Internet Guide column--love it!

I have my internet service through WVC.  They recently changed over to another service.  Every since, I get a message on my computer from "spyware", then porn jokes.  My computer runs really slow, my cd drive comes out & it is very frustrating, let alone impossible to use. Another screen tells me to get rid of the spyware--I can't…Help!

Subject: virus

 ___

Hi Randy:

I have a problem that I can't seem to clear up. I ran my Norton's Anti Virus on Sunday night with the results showing that I have a virus, the Bugbear. The pop up said to run AVG for windows to fix the problem. I then ran the AVG program and it said I had no virus detected. In the meantime the Norton's virus alert pop up will not go away nor can I clear it out. It's just there. Well I ran things again with the same results. I decided to shut down the computer to try to get rid of the pop up. When I did that, it did not re-appear. I did go to Norton's and check my reports and it had one file in quarantine so I deleted that. That may have been what got rid of the pop up, but I don't think so.

Now I am thinking things are fine. However I ran the scan again and got the same results and the same actions were taken. This has gone on all week. This morning I thought I'd run the trend micro scan, it came back no virus found. However I still get the same results with the other stuff. I don't know what to do.  In the meantime when I check the Norton's quarantine reports I have up to 4 or 5 to delete, which I do. But things just don't seem to change other than that. Do you have any idea what is going on?

I'll be gone part of the day today and also some tomorrow. If you have any suggestions, I'd sure like to hear them.

Thanks,

Joyce

Subject: web page startup

Randy,

Can you recommend any books/sites/programs for setting up and running a web page? I am the secretary of Hoosier Cruisers and we would like to get a page up and running for the club but I don't even know where to start. I figured I could research it a little bit to see if it is something that I can try on my own or if it is going to be too complicated/time consuming, we'll hire someone to get it started and show a few of us members how to manage/run it. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Kathy

Every time I run Nortons it freezes up before 100% complete. I have uninstalled and renistalled it a couple of times and it still does it. I also downloaded spyhunter. And it does the same thing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Subject: Advice for 2004

Dear Randy,

Your article on important advice for 2004 was very interesting.

I use Norton's Antivirus program and run it weekly with updates everytime I sign on the computer.  I also have Adware and Window washer.  I just recently installed the window washer program and have it programmed to run each time I shut down(usually once a day).  It removes cookies, selected histories, etc.  After the window washer has run I have gone back on computer and run Adware but it never picks up anything since I got the window washer program.

Are you familiar with this program and do you think I am removing Spy Ware from my computer with this - it doesn't identify such.

Appreciate your comments and help.

Jean

Subject: comet systems

Hello Randy. First of all I look forward to your articles and read every word.  I had a strange and annoying thing to happen and I thought I would tell you about it. In November I downloaded a screensaver from a site that boldly stated no sypware or adware what so ever!  This site is safe!  After a while I got bored with it and deleted it.  Last week I was doing routine maintenance on my computer and was just browsing around.  In my program files I found a folder "Comet Systems"  Wonder what that is?  When I opened it up, it had 6 files inside.  I opened them up and found that they were related to the waterfall screensaver I had downloaded.  I went back to program files and tried to delete the folder. It started for about 3 seconds then I got the shock of my life.  It stopped with an annoying sound and said "Access Denied!"  Who the crap is denying me anything on MY computer?  I opened up the folder again and deleted each of the files, then deleted them from my trash bin.  The next day I opened up the folder and there they were again!  I emailed the site that I got the screensaver from every day for about four days.  No response.  I have my firewall in my XP turned on and also have Mcafee.  I did a scan and it showed nothing.  I decided it was because I invited them there.  I emailed Mcafee and they emailed me back with a website.  I contacted comet systems.  Then I had to download an uninstaller.( which did remove it.)  Then I started the hunt for the uninstaller. Not in program files, I found it in windows folder and I deleted it!!!!  Have you ever heard of someone putting something in your computer and denying you access??

   Love your articles!  Karen
